Mamoon Ahmed, 36th MBBS, NC-636
Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of South Dakota, Sanford School of Medicine
"Dr. Mamoon Ahmed graduated from the 36th MBBS of Army
Medical College, an experience that laid the foundation for his medical career.
Completed my Internal Medicine residency at the University of South Dakota
Sanford School of Medicine, where I was also selected as Chief Resident. Since
graduation, I have been serving as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the
University of South Dakota, where I am involved in Problem-Based Learning
sessions for first-year medical students and serves as Director of the
student-run Coyote Clinic. I am also the Chair of Medicine for the South Dakota
Chapter of the American College of Physicians, actively promoting professional
development and educational initiatives across the state. In addition, I
practice as the hospitalist at Sanford USD Medical Center, teaching internal
medicine residents as well as medical, physician assistant, and nurse
practitioner students. Coming from a Army Medical College family—my father and
brother are also alumni—I believe that the discipline instilled in me at AMC
has carried a long way in my medical career in the United States."
